What the Job Involves As a Procurement Assistant within the Procurement Processing Team, you will support the Head of Procurement, Procurement Managers, and the Senior Procurement Officer in the procurement process. Your duties will include processing tender exercises using the Council's electronic tendering facility, preparing procurement documentation, maintaining records, and communicating with contractors/service providers. You will help keep the Council’s in-house Tendering System and Approved List of Contractors up to date and will handle inquiries from clients and contractors to resolve any issues. Occasionally, you may also work directly with the Head of Procurement and participate in team meetings. Skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook) Experience in an office/administrative environment Ability to work independently and use own initiative Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to adapt to change positively and flexibly Basic understanding of public sector procurement rules and procedures
