An outstanding independent school in Taunton is seeking a skilled and innovative Design and Technology Teacher to join its growing Technology Faculty from September 2025. The school offers DT from Year 7 to A-Level and values design, creativity, and critical thinking as core competencies across its curriculum.
The department is equipped with CAD/CAM software, laser cutters, 3D printers, and a modern workshop environment. There is a strong emphasis on sustainability and user-centred design, with student projects often linked to real-world contexts or competitions.
You will be expected to teach across the full age and ability range and contribute to co-curricular STEM and design challenges. The ideal candidate will be comfortable delivering a range of DT disciplines including product design, engineering, and systems.
Experience and Qualifications
• Degree in DT, Engineering, or related subject + QTS or relevant independent background
• Proficiency with 3D design software and workshop tools
• Experience teaching KS3 to A-Level
• Passion for innovation and practical learning
