Mechanical Handling Engineers
We are hiring for Mechanical Handling Engineers based in the Southwest area. This is a permanent, hybrid-based role.

We’re working with an engineering company specialising in solving complex engineering challenges across industries, including power generation, rail, and more.
The Role
This role is for a Mechanical Engineer—someone ambitious and ready to make an impact. You’ll be results‑oriented and driven to succeed, leading a small, experienced, and collaborative team.
Key responsibilities:
* Working collaboratively with the customer within the Mechanical Handling and Building Services teams to provide technical support on non‑nuclear and nuclear mechanical handling assets and facilities within the site.
* Supporting the Mechanical Engineering lead in key delivery projects.
* Providing technical support to the ongoing operations and maintenance of DRDL’s extant mechanical handling assets.
The Individual
We’re looking for people who can display the following:
* Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
* Relevant mechanical engineering experience in a highly regulated industry.
* Knowledge and awareness of cranes, crane safety and associated mechanical handling systems.
* Proficiency in the production of electrical/mechanical engineering drawings.
* Proficiency in the production of hand calculations and FEA.
* Experience in the design process and producing evidence of the design and substantiation of systems and components.
