Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team in a senior care environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in assisted living, nursing home operations, and senior care management. This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of care and support for our residents, particularly those with dementia and Alzheimer's. The Deputy Manager will work closely with the management team to oversee daily operations, implement care plans, and lead a team of caregivers.
Duties
* Assist in the overall management of the care home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
* Supervise and support staff, fostering a positive work environment and encouraging professional development.
* Develop, implement, and review individual care plans for residents, ensuring their needs are met effectively.
* Provide leadership in the administration of medication and other health-related tasks.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate resident care and address any medical concerns.
* Ensure that all staff adhere to health and safety protocols while providing high-quality care.
* Engage with residents and their families to promote a supportive community atmosphere.
* Monitor the wellbeing of residents, particularly those suffering from dementia or Alzheimer's, providing specialised support as needed.
Requirements
* Proven experience in assisted living or nursing home settings is essential.
* Background in nursing or senior care management preferred.
* Strong understanding of dementia care principles and practices.
* Experience in developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs.
* Demonstrated leadership skills with prior supervising experience.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also taking initiative when required.
* Knowledge of medication administration procedures is advantageous.
