Job Title: Shift Operational Technician \n\nLocation: Beddington \n\nHours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Sunday (including nights) \n\nSalary: Circa £50,000 per year (inclusive of shift allowance and annual bonus) \n\nJob Overview\n\nAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Shift Operational Technician to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the plant, both from the central control room and in the field, on a 24-hour shift rotation. As part of a team, this role involves conducting process optimisations, diagnosing and resolving equipment faults, and performing system isolations. The successful candidate will take responsibility for DCS operation, alarm handling, and overseeing ERF and boiler chemistry.
Routine plant monitoring is a key aspect of this role to minimise environmental impact, along with diligent shift logging and handovers to maintain operational continuity. Continuous personal development is encouraged to support career growth.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nOperate and monitor plant processes safely and efficiently.\n\nDiagnose and rectify equipment faults, ensuring system integrity.\n\nPerform process changes to optimise performance.\n\nOversee DCS operation, alarm handling, and boiler chemistry.\n\nMaintain accurate shift logs and ensure seamless handovers.\n\nConduct routine plant monitoring to minimise environmental impacts.\n\nCommit to personal development and maintain a flexible approach to tasks.\n\nQualifications & Skills\n\nUnderstanding of safe systems of work, including plant isolations.\n\nLogical problem-solving abilities to ensure efficient operations.\n\nSafety qualification (IOSH or NEBOSH preferred).\n\nMechanical, electrical, or process plant experience essential.\n\nCapability to attain Authorised Person status (desirable)
