Working hours: This role is available on a part-time, job-share or full-time basis

Salary: Circa £29,000 depending on experience + excellent package!

Location: You’ll be based in our Fareham office (hybrid working available)

The opportunity:

Are you looking to get into the world of Underwriting? Do you have an innovative and proactive approach with an eye for detail? This is an exciting and varied role with excellent scope for progression into an Underwriter role. Customer experience is key to what we do so if you share our passion, we would love to hear from you!

Ideally, you may have some experience in the Insurance Industry and in an Underwriting environment but don’t worry if you don’t! If you have passion for developing and maintaining relationships with our customers and the desire to learn and progress, we will put the time and effort into your development. This also includes recognised qualifications such as CII (Chartered Insurance Institute).

What will you be doing?

All of which will help you to build key relationships with your internal and external customers. Other activities include:

1. Collaborates within process stakeholders.
2. Acts as a mentor to junior colleagues, assisting with their development and supporting the whole team.
3. Meets stipulated timeframes and executes with high quality.
4. Supports the offshore team with any training and onboarding on further activities.
5. Independently handle and take responsibility for assigned accounts
6. Computing rates and premiums for policies, compiling appropriate; declarations, coverage forms, national/local forms, and optional endorsements, to complete a policy.
7. Reviewing risk in support of underwriting decisions.
8. Proactively escalate any problems and issues related to premium payment to the respective Account Manager, Underwriter and Underwriting Services.
9. Provides program overviews and statistics by producing reports from the reporting platform.
10. Prepares material for underwriting decision and make underwriting recommendations.
11. Follows up and manages on cash collection.
12. Prepares and delivers service presentations as required to brokers and/or customers.
13. Ensures and maintains data quality and integrity in systems used and performs quality reviews within or across teams.
14. Able to identify areas in need of continuous improvement and suggest solutions.
