A respected and growing accountancy firm based in York is currently recruiting for a Senior Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. On offer is a competitive salary of £38,000–£45,000, along with an attractive benefits package that includes 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, a bonus scheme, and on-site parking.
As a Senior Accountant, you will be:
* Preparing and reviewing year-end accounts, management accounts, and VAT returns for a varied portfolio of clients
* Supporting clients with day-to-day queries, offering sound financial advice and guidance
* Assisting with tax compliance and planning, including personal and corporate tax returns
* Supervising and mentoring junior team members, offering technical support and training
* Playing a key role in client meetings, maintaining strong relationships and understanding their business needs
* Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and staying up to date with accounting standards
To be successful in this Senior Accountant role, you will ideally have/be:
* ACA/ACCA qualified or qualified by experience in a practice environment
* Strong experience preparing accounts for a wide range of clients, including SMEs and sole traders
* Confident in managing client relationships and explaining complex financial matters clearly
* A team player with leadership potential, able to support and develop junior staff
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
