We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our field operations team. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to play a key role in maintaining the UK's vital maritime safety assets while working alongside experienced engineers, technicians, and maritime professionals.
What You'll Do
* Maintenance: Responsible for carrying out technical tasks in support of the Field Operations team, traveling to seaside and offshore locations working on Navigation Aids and support systems at lighthouses, cottages, and associated buildings and structures.
* Carry out inspections and maintenance regimes: Ensure the Maintenance Management Information System (MMIS) is kept up to date to plan upcoming works. The MMIS is used to document completed tasks and new works to keep lighthouses fully operational.
* Manage records, supplies, and stores: Use MMIS to report necessary works, document inspection results, and maintain an inventory of equipment and supplies required on-station.
* Site Supervision and Installation Works: Once competent, you will supervise on-site installations, organize team and contractor work, and support technical tasks.
* Work with helicopters, ships, and boats: Plan travel onboard and work alongside these transport modes.
* Travel and explore: Visit rugged coastal sites and offshore lighthouses, with extended time away from home compensated accordingly.
* Gain training and qualifications: Receive training in engineering, maritime operations, and health & safety disciplines.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
* Experience in technical maintenance/installation roles
* Experience with PLC-based control systems
* Practical training from a craft apprenticeship
* Knowledge of electronic fault finding to component level
* Knowledge of Health & Safety and Electricity at Work regulations (desirable)
* Level 3 qualification in a relevant electronic discipline or equivalent experience
* Full driving licence
