The Opportunity An established and growing business within the energy reduction solutions sector is seeking a proactive and organised Accounts Assistant to join their finance team in Stockport. This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone with strong sales and purchase ledger experience who enjoys being involved in the wider day-to-day running of the business. You’ll play a key role in keeping financial processes running smoothly while also supporting operational and administrative activities. Key Responsibilities * Managing the purchase ledger, including processing supplier invoices, reconciliations, and payments * Managing the sales ledger, including raising invoices, allocating payments, and maintaining accurate records * Carrying out credit control, including chasing a small number of outstanding debts each week in a professional and positive manner * Supporting day-to-day finance administration, including data entry, document control, and bank reconciliations * Assisting with purchasing of stock and materials to support operational teams * Maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with month-end reporting information * Providing general administrative and ad-hoc support across the business as required About You * Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role * Confident managing sales and purchase ledger processes * Experience with credit control and customer payment follow-up * Working knowledge of Xero accounting software * Highly organised with strong attention to detail * A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to support the wider team * A strong communicator, comfortable dealing with customers, suppliers, and internal teams * Experience supporting operational or project-based teams would be an advantage What’s on Offer * Salary of £28,000–£30,000, depending on experience * Quarterly bonus * A stable, permanent role within a growing business * Free on-site parking * A friendly, supportive working environment with scope to develop
