Business Development Executive - Fintech - London
My client is an ambitious, API-first embedded finance platform that is transforming how financial services are delivered to small businesses. Their commercial strategy is focused on distributing their solution through strategic partners—such as accounting platforms, banks, commercial brokers, lending providers, and other service platforms.
With a growing partner network already in place, the business is scaling rapidly, and this role is key to accelerating that growth.
Role Overview:
The Business Development Executive will play a vital role in driving revenue through partner channels by generating deal flow, converting leads, and building strong relationships. This person will take ownership of the sales pipeline, support onboarding processes, and ensure a smooth, professional experience for both partners and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Proactively engage with leads via phone and tailored email campaigns to convert them into customers
* Manage and expand the existing sales pipeline with commercial insight and initiative
* Act as the first point of contact for partner and customer onboarding enquiries
* Support both the sales and operations teams to ensure successful onboarding of new clients
* Track lead activity, ensure timely follow-ups, and maintain accurate pipeline data
* Monitor the progress of deals, identifying and resolving potential delays
* Strengthen partner relationships through regular outreach and promotion of ongoing campaigns
* Gather feedback from prospects to refine messaging and inform future sales strategies
* Suggest process improvements and contribute ideas to optimise sales operations
* Collaborate with internal teams and contribute actively in cross-functional meetings
You should apply if you have:
* 1–2 years of experience in business development, sales, customer service, or a similar role—ideally within financial services or a small-business-focused environment
* Proven experience working with internal and external stakeholders
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
* Familiarity with CRM systems (preferably HubSpot)
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment

* A confident and empathetic communicator across phone, email, and messaging platforms
* A strong listener and creative problem-solver who builds trust quickly
* Organised, detail-oriented, and efficient with time management
* Results-driven with a high attention to detail and accuracy
* Tech-savvy and eager to learn new tools (especially familiar with Google Workspace)
* Adaptable, proactive, and responsive to feedback and change
Nice to Have:
* A degree in a business-related discipline
* Experience within financial services or other client-facing businesses
* Understanding of financial products or lending solutions
* Strong commercial awareness and a partner-focused mindset
