Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis to join our culinary team. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations by assisting in food preparation, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring a smooth workflow. This position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills while working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes according to recipes and standards set by the Head Chef.
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all food production processes.
* Support the kitchen team by supervising junior staff and providing guidance as needed.
* Help with the organisation of kitchen stations and ensure that all cooking equipment is clean and functional.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods.
* Participate in menu planning and contribute creative ideas for new dishes.
* Assist in inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies when necessary.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; a passion for culinary arts is key.
* Strong understanding of food safety regulations and practices.
* Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
* Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
* Leadership qualities with an eagerness to supervise and help develop junior staff members.

* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
