Job Description
This role is responsible for monitoring, evaluating and reporting on the progress and outcomes of projects funded under the seagrass restoration stream of the Healthy Oceans grants program. It provides specialist advice on seagrass biology, ecology, restoration and research to the BCS Leader, Science Coordination, the Healthy Oceans Project Officer, grant applicants and the program’s review and assessment panel. The position will lead development of a seagrass restoration report that documents learnings gained through the Healthy Oceans Program to guide future restoration activities.

Selection Criteria
Applicants should address the following four (4) criteria. These should be addressed in no more than three (3) pages in total.
1. Broad knowledge of and experience in designing and implementing monitoring or research of marine benthic ecosystems (ESSENTIAL) or seagrass ecosystems (DESIRABLE).
2. Proven ability to source and synthesise complex scientific information relating to conservation of marine ecosystems (ESSENTIAL) or seagrass ecosystems (DESIRABLE) to provide expert advice.
3. Considerable experience in preparation of reports, submissions and correspondence relating to conservation and management of marine ecosystems (ESSENTIAL) or seagrass ecosystems (DESIRABLE).
4. Well-developed written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills with an ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
