With effect from 01 April 2026, NHS Scotland is reducing its full time working week from 37 to 36 hours per week. There will be no change in full time pay.
NHS Tayside is seeking an innovative, delivery-focused pharmacy leader to join our senior leadership team as Associate Director of Pharmacy – Primary Care Mental Health, Education and Training, and Medicines Governance. Following the successful appointment of our current postholder to a Director of Pharmacy role in NHS Fife, this is a rare opportunity to shape the future of medicines use and pharmaceutical care across primary care, mental health, community pharmacy and Health and Social Care Partnerships.
The role provides strategic, professional, and operational leadership for primary care pharmacy services, medicines governance and prescribing policy, supporting safe, effective, and equitable use of medicines for a population of over 420,000. The postholder will work in close partnership with multiprofessional teams across primary care, mental health, community pharmacy, social care, and acute services, leading collaborative improvement, influencing practice, and embedding high standards of medicines use across the system.
We are looking for a senior pharmacist with a proven record of delivering change in complex systems, bringing innovation, collaboration, and strong professional leadership. You must be a registered pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council and demonstrate a clear commitment to professional accountability, medicines safety and continuous professional development, modelling the standards expected of the profession.

Hours of work are: 37 Hours worked over a 5 day week (reducing to 36 hours from April 1st 2026).
