Associate Director for Business Delivery

We are offering an exciting secondment opportunity to join the Office of the Chief Executive, working directly with the Chief Executive Team and named Executive Directors. This role is pivotal in driving pace and scale of progress across a range of high-priority areas during a time of significant transformation and renewal within NHS Tayside and the wider NHS in Scotland.
As Associate Director for Business Delivery, you will lead a portfolio of corporate priorities that shape the future of healthcare delivery.
Your initial focus will include:
* Mental Health and Learning Disability Transformation and Medium-Term Plan
* Driving delivery of Board Corporate Objectives 2026/27
* Coordinating Executive Team Cross-Cutting Business Delivery Priorities
* Responsibility and authority for developing and delivering a workplan on the agreed priorities.
What We’re Looking For:
Applicants should currently hold a senior strategic role within the NHS and have line manager support for release on secondment. You will demonstrate:
* Proven experience in leading large-scale transformation and change programmes with clear measurable outcomes
* Ability to manage multiple competing demands and deliver results at pace in complex environments
* Strong knowledge of corporate governance and business delivery
* Expertise in whole-system leadership and cross-boundary collaboration
* Evidence leadership qualities and experience aligned to the NHS Scotland Leadership Success Profile, including enabling outcomes, shaping culture, and empowering systems
