Principal System Validation Engineer

Ampere Recruitment is partnering with an innovative semiconductor company developing advanced multiphase DC/DC power solutions to identify a Principal System Validation Engineer.
This position will play a key role in validating next-generation multiphase controller and smart power stage (SPS/DrMOS) technologies, working closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure robust product performance from development through to release.
The successful candidate will combine deep power electronics expertise with strong validation methodology and automation experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain comprehensive validation plans for multiphase DC/DC solutions
* Own the bug tracking system and lead cross-functional discussions to identify and resolve root causes
* Collaborate with engineering teams to define and lock down datasheet electrical specifications
* Lead ATE vs. bench correlation activities
* Contribute to PCB design and layout activities
* Drive improvements to automated validation methodologies across the organisation
Required Experience
Candidates should hold:
* MEng in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (or related discipline) with 8+ years of experience, or
* BEng with 10+ years of experience
Experience should include validation of multiphase DC/DC controllers and smart power stages, or equivalent experience gained within an applications engineering environment.
Strong technical expertise in:
* Operation of DrMOS and Smart Power Stages within closed-loop multiphase systems
* Multiphase controller operation and architectures
* High-current power MOSFET operation (100A+)
* Understanding of package and PCB parasitics
* Automated validation methodologies
* PCB design tools such as OrCad or Allegro
Additional Desirable Skills
* Experience using Python for test automation with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies, electronic loads, DMMs, analysers)
* Experience developing automation-focused validation methodologies and supporting PCBs
* Knowledge of control loop tuning for transient and frequency response
