Job Description:
Selby Jennings is exclusively partnering with a leading UK-based investment manager with over £2bn in assets under management to appoint a Investor Relations / Project Management Director. This is a senior leadership role, ideal for a highly organised and experienced professional who can spearhead all investor relations functions with a strong focus on project management, process execution, and team leadership.
This is not a sales or fundraising-led role. While experience supporting fundraises is beneficial, the priority is on operational excellence, delivery, and strategic coordination across investor-facing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
* Lead and manage a small, high-performing Investor Relations team.
* Provide day-to-day oversight, coaching, and accountability.
Project Management & Process
* Own the planning and execution of investor-related projects, particularly fundraise launches.
* Drive timelines, workflows, and cross-functional coordination to ensure deadlines are met.
* Continuously improve internal processes and reporting frameworks.
Collateral & Communications
* Define and uphold high standards for investor-facing materials (e.g., pitch decks, factsheets, reports).
* Ensure consistency, accuracy, and brand alignment across all communications.
* Work closely with marketing, compliance, and investment teams to deliver best-in-class outputs.
* Lead the operational side of fundraise launches, from planning through to delivery.
* Understand the steps required to build momentum and engagement throughout a campaign.
* Coordinate internal stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.
Investor Targeting & Strategy
* Suggest investor targets using internal knowledge, market research, and external databases.
* While deep personal investor relationships are not essential, a strategic understanding of the investor landscape is important.
* Support the development of outreach strategies and engagement plans.
Candidate Profile
* Experience: 10+ years in investor relations, investment management, or a related field, with a strong emphasis on project delivery and team leadership.
* Execution-Oriented: Proven ability to manage complex, deadline-driven initiatives with precision.
* Leadership: Hands-on team leader with a collaborative and structured approach.
* Detail-Focused: High standards for quality and consistency in investor materials and communications.
* Strategic Thinker: Understands how to build and maintain momentum during fundraising campaigns.
* Resourceful: Able to identify and suggest investor targets through research and strategic insight.
