Job Title: Aviation Manager
Reporting to: Chief Commercial Officer (CCO)
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 9.00am - 5.00pm (occasional travel or participation in events outside of these hours may be required)
Job Purpose: To maximise the route network, passenger numbers, and market share of Belfast International Airport within the Northern Ireland/Ireland aviation market. Manage relationships with existing airlines, develop and attract new airlines and routes, and use analytical insights to support growth. Negotiate terms with airlines, cultivate relationships, and develop marketing strategies to promote routes and destinations.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
1. Analyse airline and route performance using internal and external data sources to identify opportunities.
2. Create business cases and airline propositions based on data insights and market understanding.
3. Develop an aviation strategy with the CCO and report progress to senior management.
4. Negotiate airline agreements to incentivise route development and passenger growth.
5. Build and maintain relationships with airlines, trade, travel agencies, and corporate customers.
6. Attend trade events, industry conferences, and meetings to promote the airport.
7. Collaborate with marketing to develop airline marketing plans and promote routes.
8. Coordinate with external partners like Tourism Ireland and Visit Belfast.
9. Support budget preparation and monitor costs and revenues.
10. Stay informed on industry developments, threats, and opportunities.
11. Ensure compliance with health, safety, fire, and security regulations.
12. Participate in emergency exercises and uphold company policies on information security.

Essential Criteria:
* Level 6 qualification in Business Development, Marketing, or relevant discipline OR aviation management experience.
* Full driving license and own transport.
* Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role within a commercial environment.
* Proficiency in creating reports, managing accounts, contract negotiations, and delivering presentations.
* Knowledge of contract management, financial concepts, and software packages like MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
