This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader who is passionate about delivering high-quality education in a specialist setting for pupils with varied needs. Working alongside the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, you will provide clear, authentic leadership, support the development of individualised learning programmes, uphold the school's strong safeguarding culture, and contribute strategically to the growth and success of the school. You will have the opportunity to inspire and guide a multidisciplinary team, develop school-wide policies and practices, and ensure high standards of teaching, learning, and pastoral care. This role offers the chance to be innovative, creative, and impactful, helping every pupil reach their full potential.
Responsibilities
* Provide leadership and direction to teaching and support staff, promoting high standards across the school.
* Collaborate with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement the school's vision, aims, and objectives.
* Support curriculum planning and delivery, ensuring individualised learning pathways for pupils with complex needs.
* Uphold the school's safeguarding practices and act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (training provided).
* Monitor and evaluate teaching, learning, and pupil progress, providing guidance, feedback, and mentoring to staff.
* Contribute to strategic planning, school improvement initiatives, and performance management.
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe environment that encourages pupils to develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
Qualifications & Experience
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and degree level education.
* Experience working in an SEN or specialist educational setting.
* Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
* Strong understanding of safeguarding, SEMH, and inclusive practices.
* Passionate about making a tangible difference in the lives of young people.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
* Resilient, innovative, and able to lead with empathy and vision.
