Senior Data Developer
Salary: Starting from £42,839 to £46,142 per annum
Grade: Grade 7
Hours: 37 hours per week

As a Senior Data Developer, you will collaborate with the Digital Development Manager to deliver innovative, user-centric, design-led technical solutions. You will be fundamental to unlocking the value of the Council’s data and ensuring it is accurate, accessible, and secure. You will take the lead on managing system data integrity, work with other developers to design and implement ETL operations, and establish robust data pipelines.
By promoting a "data-driven" culture, you will support end users to make informed decisions through effective business intelligence. This role acts as an enabler for the wider organisation.
You will be responsible for providing supervisory support, training, and technical guidance to operational staff and managers, enabling them to confidently create, use, and manage their own departmental dashboards and reports. You will also work with software suppliers and third-party partners to ensure high-quality data extraction and API integrations.
Qualifications & Skills:
* Demonstrable skills in SQL and data querying, with experience using ETL tools and designing data pipelines.
* Proficiency in data visualisation and dashboarding tools such as Power BI, Looker, or Tableau.
* Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex data concepts into accessible language for non-technical staff.
* Willingness to share data-specific skills and knowledge with other developers and apprentices to build resilience and ensure a balanced workload.
