This role is based at the Vauxhall Motors Manufacturing Plant in Luton, UK. There are nearly 1,500 employees based at the site building a light commercial vehicle under the Citroën, Peugeot, Fiat, Opel, and Vauxhall badges. It is a fast paced, high-volume site working across 3 shifts and producing 2,500 vans a week for the end customer.
The Quality Engineering group ensures the vehicles is built to strict engineering and safety requirements. This requires working directly in all areas of Van production to ensure conformity to the procedures and processes. The group is also accountable for the quality of supplier parts and partners with all areas of the production process and suppliers with problem solving, this requires an ability to be able to manage and solve complex issues quickly and accurately. It also requires communication across all levels of the organisation both internally and externally. The group also controls all engineering changes for the plant including requesting changes and the introduction of all new parts.

Required Skills:
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, show leadership ability, and develop relationships with colleagues from different areas of the plant, as well as any necessary external customers. They will need to show the desire to learn and apply knowledge to the solving of diverse problems on a daily basis. You must have the desire to take on responsibility to get the job done accurately and on time. They must be able to demonstrate good problem solving and time management skills. Analytical skills, with sound engineering skills are very important. A good level of computer literacy, is also necessary. However, this is a hands on job and the successful candidate should be willing to get fully involved in all aspects of day to day production.
