A leading organisation is seeking a highly experienced Technical Services Delivery Lead to take ownership of a critical, large-scale pensions platform at the core of its technology estate.
This is a senior, high-impact role responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and ongoing evolution of a complex, legacy ecosystem that supports millions of customers and significant assets under management.
The successful candidate will act as the key technical and service interface between internal stakeholders and a major third-party supplier, ensuring delivery quality, managing risk, and driving accountability across both run and change activities.
This is not a hands‑on engineering role; instead, it requires strong technical judgement, leadership, and the ability to operate confidently in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Own end-to-end service delivery and technical assurance for a business-critical platform
* Act as the primary interface between internal teams and external suppliers, ensuring high-quality delivery and accountability
* Oversee incident management, problem management, and production stability
* Lead discussions across BAU support, change initiatives, and platform improvements
* Challenge and validate supplier outputs to ensure solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with business needs
* Manage and mitigate technical and operational risk, working closely with security, audit, and resilience functions
* Support and influence strategic initiatives, including platform modernisation and migration programmes
* Handle escalations across technical, delivery, and service domains, acting as a key decision‑maker when required
* Build and maintain strong relationships across business, technology, and third‑party teams

Key experience and skills include:
* Strong background in IT service delivery, application management, or technical delivery leadership
* Experience working within outsourced or vendor‑led environments, managing third‑party suppliers and holding them accountable
* Solid understanding of application architecture, development practices, and production environments (non‑hands‑on)
* Proven ability to manage incidents, risk, and service performance in large‑scale systems
* Experience operating within regulated environments (e.g. financial services, insurance, fintech)
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non‑technical audiences
* Confidence to challenge, influence, and make decisions in high‑pressure situations
* A proactive, resilient mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity and prioritise effectively
