Job Description
Turner & Townsend’s Digital Advisory business is growing and building capability to meet our 2030 Strategy. We are seeking an experienced Digital Advisory Consulting Manager with a proven track record, specialising in either; Asset Intensive Industries, Built Environment, Energy and Natural Resources or Defence. Knowledge of PMIS systems, ERP systems and agile tooling is advantageous. The role is focused in proactive, driven individuals who have an appetite and capability in the following.
1. Service delivery excellence: Transformation Management, Digital Strategy & Insights, Technology Advisory, or Enterprise Architecture.
2. Business Generation capability; Bid management/ writing, proposal development, lead generation.
3. People & Operations: People management, Coaching, Mentorship and Training.
4. Service development; Digital Strategy productization, Playbook development, Insights and Benchmarking database management.
The team offers a wide range of commissions covering the UK. Candidates would be expected to travel up to 2-3 days per week supporting the delivery of the commissions. As a global business we deliver projects anywhere in the world for our global client base so future flexibility would be advantageous.
Key Requirements.
5. The successful candidate will provide Digital & Technology Strategy expertise. Additionally, they will support the development of our Digital Strategy, Advisory and Transformation service offering, providing best practice knowledge and guidance to junior colleagues and the wider business. Furthermore, they will support the development of new commercial service opportunities.
6. Candidates must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills with an ability to adapt to and embed into different client environments. This includes identification and communication with key stakeholders and liaison between business departments and groups.
7. Candidates will be expected to engage with clients and be comfortable in leading workshops, assess options for process improvement including process modelling, and familiarity with the requirements management lifecycle to enable successful delivery of technical solutions.
8. Experience of working in Digital Strategy & Transformation projects via Agile and/or Waterfall project development teams is required.
9. Experience of digital transformation is required, including the ability to gather, review and analyse business and/or industry data including KPIs, financial reports and other key metrics using data analytics tools.
10. An understanding of technical solution capabilities, including use of the following platforms is desired: Power BI, SQL, Power Platform, SharePoint, and MS Projects. The candidate should be comfortable working alongside technical developer teams, with an ability to elicit and translate technical requirements from non-technical stakeholders to a team of data specialists.
SCOPE
Consultants will work within our Digital consulting team. They may also operate within wider Turner & Townsend project teams from other business units. In addition, they will need to interact with clients and other project stakeholders. They will support a wide range of projects of all sizes and dimensions. From time to time this may include working with consultants from different agencies.
The successful candidate will own:
11. Delivery of high-impact digital transformation programmes across strategic sectors, such as Energy & Natural Resources, Defence, Infrastructure and Government.
12. Act as a trusted advisor to clients on digital strategy, technology adoption, and enterprise architecture.
13. Contribute to business growth through proactive lead generation, bid management, and proposal development.
14. Develop and mentor team members, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
15. Shape and enhance Turner & Townsend’s digital service offerings through productization and knowledge management.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Assisting the team of Analysts & Consultants on a range of tasks, to include:
Service Delivery
16. Lead client engagements in Digital Strategy & Insights, Technology Advisory, Transformation Management, and Enterprise Architecture.
17. Define and implement digital roadmaps aligned with client objectives.
18. Ensure delivery quality, client satisfaction, and measurable outcomes.
Business Generation
19. Drive lead generation and identify new opportunities within target sectors.
20. Manage and contribute to bid writing/ management, proposal development, and client presentations in line with Turner & Townsend best practice.
21. Build strong client relationships to support repeat business and long-term partnerships through strategic account development.
People & Operations
22. Manage and develop a team of consultants, providing coaching, mentorship, and training.
23. Support resource planning and operational efficiency within the digital advisory practice.
24. Promote a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
Service Development
25. Contribute to digital strategy productization and development of playbooks.
26. Maintain and enhance insights and benchmarking databases to support client engagements.
27. Innovate and refine service offerings to meet evolving market needs.
Qualifications
This role will require good analytic and strong numeracy skills with the ability to understand and present data in different representations. Ability, or the desire to learn, a strong level of Microsoft Office experience required as well.
28. Degree in an analytic subject or MBA. This is not required, but advantageous
29. Business Analysis qualifications such as BCS or IIBA (desirable). Alternatively, extensive experience will be considered.
