As part of that commitment, we’re looking for caring, reliable host families to provide a safe and supportive home environment for our Academy players aged 15–21. These young footballers need to have a comfortable place to stay away from home whilst they pursue their ambition of becoming professional players. A host family offers them far more than a room—it's a home from home, a friendly face, and a stable environment. What Does Hosting Involve? As a Host Accommodation Provider, you’ll play a meaningful role in a young player’s wellbeing and daily life. You will: • Provide a furnished room, meals, and a welcoming environment within a 5 mile radius of Oakwell Stadium. • Support players living away from home—helping them learn life skills like cooking, cleaning, and managing independence. • Offer age appropriate supervision, ensuring safety and wellbeing at all times. • Work closely with our Player Care and Safeguarding teams, who provide regular check ins and guidance. You may host a player for a full season or support those on short term trial periods—every contribution makes a difference. Why Become a Host? Hosting is incredibly rewarding.
