GSL Education are recruiting a dedicated SEN Primary Teaching Assistant to work in a well-regarded primary SEN setting in Chesterfield. This is a full-time position, ideal for those committed to making a real difference in children's lives. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support for primary pupils with diverse special educational needs. Deliver targeted interventions and support the implementation of EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans). Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that promotes independence and confidence. Help manage behaviour using appropriate de-escalation strategies and positive reinforcement. Support pupils with personal care needs, where required, in line with school policies. Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCOs, and parents to monitor and record progress. Assist in creating engaging, differentiated resources and activities to support learning objectives. Be available to travel between school locations or assist across different year groups as needed. Job Requirements: Previous experience working with SEN pupils in a primary school setting. Must have a valid UK driving licence and access to your transport. A solid understanding of SEN conditions and how they affect learning and development. Confident in using strategies to support pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language needs. Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to working with young children. Strong organisational skills and the ability to respond flexibly to pupils’ changing needs. Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
