You will be working in the Infrastructure OU based in Peterborough in where we are responsible for bringing design, build and refurbishment excellence to complex civil engineering projects nationwide – combining technical expertise with a passion for creating lasting value for people and places.
We are currently looking for a Planning Manager for Anglian Water who will lead the site planning team to develop programmes that accurately describe the way the project will be delivered, that manages time risk and that the project team and customer can trust.
As the Planning Manager, you will:
* Develop the planning approach for a project taking into account both our customers and Skanska’s planning requirements.
* Establish the project level collaborative planning approach to drive engagement of the whole project team with the programme.
* Interrogate the programme and identify areas for improvements, risk reduction and potential issues across the whole project.
* Work with project controls team to develop planning reporting for the project.
* Monitor the programme to identify both positive and negative trends across the project and develop strategies to either exploit or mitigate these trends.
We are looking for:
* Significant planning experience with a Tier 1 infrastructure contractor. Experience of various methods of planning and planning software.
* Understanding of the construction market, all stages of a project, methods of construction, plant, equipment and labour requirements.
* Technical knowledge of construction techniques, principles and best practices probably developed through both formal education (degree / HNC/HNC in Civil Engineering / Construction) and practical experience (site management with an infrastructure contractor).
* Understanding of the impacts of various forms of contract on time and how to manage that within the programme.
