Principal Project Engineer
Department Engineering
Location: Warrington Site
Reporting to: Engineering Manager

The successful candidate should be a self-motivated Leader who is able to use their own initiative to establish their own priorities. They should have good knowledge of their own self-awareness and show drive and passion for executing projects whilst being an excellent people manager.
Job Responsibilities
The following responsibilities are associated with this job role but are not limited to:
1. Performing various evaluations and calculations, e.g. sizing equipment, mass and energy balances, and fluid flows.
2. Planning resources and schedules for assigned projects.
3. Coordinating works of various resources for projects such as electrical and mechanical contractors, commissioning teams, etc.
4. Drive improvements in safety, quality, plant availability, production rates, and production costs.
5. Maintain proper documentation for projects including equipment drawings, P&IDs, and plots.
6. Developing equipment specifications and installation requirements and ensuring that the equipment is safe and meets the needs of manufacturing.
7. Manage projects from idea generation through start-up.
8. Support production engineers, maintenance, and other plant functions when needed, both capital and non-capital jobs.
9. Manage capital project budgets including forecasting
10. Troubleshooting equipment and developing permanent solutions to recurring issues.
11. Participate in OPEX, Six Sigma, and lean activities to sustain continuous improvement.
Qualifications and DESIRED SKILLS
12. Degree in a Chemical or Mechanical Engineering discipline or a similar relevant qualification
13. Demonstrable success in managing capital projects in a manufacturing, process or production environment.
14. Excellent technical and engineering skills, communication skills including leading group meetings, and supervising/managing project teams of all fields including contractors.
15. The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and use problem-solving tools.
16. The ability to manage and organize time, interact with people from all levels of the organization, and capable of sustaining a drive for excellence.
17. Ability to communicate clearly by written and verbal reporting and possess above-average fluency with technical software.
18. Attention to detail should be an ingrained behaviour.
19. This position is in a 24/7 manufacturing plant environment and some extended working hours are required to complete aggressive shutdown and installation work schedules.
