Position: Secondary Special Education Co-Teacher
Location: Battle Creek, MI
Duration: Full-Time, 2025-2026 School Year
Schedule: 7:40 AM 2:40 PM | 37.5 hrs/week
Overview:
We are seeking a passionate Secondary Special Education Co-Teacher to join our team in Battle Creek, MI for the 20252026 school year. You will work collaboratively in a co-teaching environment to support the diverse needs of 5th8th grade students. This is a full-time, on-site role with no travel required between locations, except for scheduled professional development.
Caseload Info:
* 5th8th grade students in a co-teaching setting
* Typically, co-teachers support one grade level, though this may vary
* Alternative / Transitional Setting
* Hybrid Learning Model Push-In and Pull-Out Services

Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
* Provide instructional support in a co-teaching model
* Differentiate instruction to accommodate a range of learning styles and abilities
* Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff
* Track and report student progress and make instructional adjustments as needed
* Maintain compliance with all special education laws and documentation standards
Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters degree preferred)
* Valid, active State Professional Educator License (Full IS License only substitutes not accepted)
* Must have an endorsement in a special education area
* Completion of Science of Reading training is required
* Experience with IEP development and implementation
* Strong collaboration and communication skills
Preferred Skills:
* Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive tools
* Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies and positive supports
* Ability to work effectively in a team teaching environment
