 
        
        SJK Healthcare are recruiting for the Job role of Senior Care Assistant in the Lancashire area 
 
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their comfort and well-being in a safe and nurturing environment.
 
This is a permanent role 
 
Hours are 36 - 48 per week Days and Nights available
 
Responsibilities 
• Provide and promoting high-quality, person-centred care and support to residents, ensuring dignity, choice, and independence are maintained at all times
• Assist with safely and accurately administration of medications in line with policies, CQC regulations, and legislation.
• Assist in the creation, implementation, and review of individualised care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Monitor residents’ physical, emotional, and social wellbeing, escalating concerns appropriately to senior management or healthcare professionals.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues to ensure continuity of care.
• Supervising, leading, mentor, and support a team of care assistants on shift, ensuring best practice and compliance with care standards.
• Support new staff with induction, training, and ongoing development to build a skilled care team. 
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation, including care records and medication logs. 
• Promote and uphold safeguarding, infection control, health & safety, and confidentiality practices. 
• Collaborate with nurses, doctors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic, safe, and compassionate care within regulatory frameworks (CQC, GDPR, Health & Safety at Work Act). 
• Completing and reviewing risk assessments and care plans. 
• Act as the first point of contact for residents and their families, providing reassurance, guidance, and effective communication. 
• Monitoring residents’ wellbeing and responding to changes in their needs.

Requirements 
• NVQ level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) 
• Proven experience in a care setting, ideally in a senior or supervisory role. (Senior) 
• Previous experience in a healthcare or care home setting is preferred but not essential. (Junior) • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents and staff. 
• Ability to work as part of a team while also being self-motivated. 
• Basic IT skills for documentation purposes. 
• A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others. 
• Caring, patient, and empathetic nature. 
• Medication administration training and experience 
• Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
