Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and preparation, however experience is not essential. The right attitude and willingness to learn are key attributes. This role requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to perfection while fostering a positive kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Head Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring smooth workflow and efficiency.
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menus.
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in compliance with health regulations.
* Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings.
* Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
* Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting - helpful but not essential.
* Strong culinary skills with a solid understanding of food production processes.
* Previous kitchen experience is preferred along with familiarity with various cooking methods.
* A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From £13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 30 per week
