Job Description
The Oxford Hills School District is seeking excellent candidates for the position of Special Education Functional Life Skills Teacher at The Guy E. Rowe Elementary School grades 4-6 in Norway, ME. This position is to start with the 2025/26 school year.
Guy E. Rowe is a community school located in the heart of Norway. We seek educators who work collaboratively on shared goals.
This teacher would join a fabulous team to work with students in a self-contained life skills setting. Student disabilities could include ID, Autism, and OHI. Focus is on functional academics, ADL, communication, participation in inclusive classes, and other individual needs. Grade level would vary, but expected to include primary grades.
Candidates must hold a valid Maine certification 282 or the ability to obtain one with appropriate endorsement(s). Reports to: Building Principal
Work Schedule: 180 day Contract
MSAD #17 offers a robust employee benefits package for full-time employees, including: health insurance with 80% of the premium paid by the employer (with up to 100% if both spouses work in the district); dental, vision, Group Life Insurance; flexible spending and dependent care accounts; Maine Public Employee Pension, 403(b) retirement plan eligibility; 15 paid sick days per year; and tuition reimbursement.
*In addition to the base salaries above, Special Education positions receive the following annual supplemental stipends:
* Day Treatment Teachers - $4,500
* Functional Life Skills Teachers - $4,400
* Social Skills Teachers - $3,400
* Resource Room Teachers - $2,000
* Social Workers - $4,450
