Job Description
We are looking for an innovative AI Discovery Manager to define and lead how Gear4music products are discovered, understood, and recommended across emerging AI-powered platforms.
Customer journeys are rapidly evolving, with more product discovery happening through AI assistants, generative search experiences, and emerging agent-driven commerce platforms (where AI can recommend or complete purchases on behalf of users). This role will shape how our brand, product catalogue, and expertise are interpreted by these systems, ensuring Gear4music is consistently surfaced in high-intent, AI-driven buying moments.
Working across marketing, ecommerce, content, and engineering, you will develop strategies that make our products and knowledge easy for machines to understand, trust, and recommend. This is a new and evolving discipline, and you will play a key role in defining how AI discovery is approached within ecommerce.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop strategies to influence how AI systems interpret, select, and recommend our products and content
* Continuously evaluate how Gear4music appears within AI-generated responses (e.g. testing prompts, tracking inclusion in recommendations, analysing AI-generated comparisons)
* Identify opportunities to increase inclusion in AI-driven buying journeys by improving signals of authority, relevance, and trust (e.g. structured content, product data quality, external references and backlinks)
* Ensure our product catalogue is structured so AI systems and automated purchasing agents can accurately interpret, compare, and transact on our products
* Optimise product data and feeds to support emerging AI-led commerce experiences where purchasing decisions are influenced or executed by automated systems
* Partner with engineering to build a strong technical foundation (structured data, schema implementation, site architecture, crawlability) that supports how machines discover and interpret our content
* Collaborate with content and marketing teams to develop authoritative, structured content that is easily interpreted and referenced by AI systems
* Define frameworks for creating content that performs in AI-generated answers, comparisons, and recommendations, while identifying gaps that limit visibility
* Review current reporting and develop new approaches to measure AI visibility, including tracking AI-driven traffic, recommendation frequency, and revenue influenced by AI discovery
* Design and run experiments to understand how changes to product data, content, and authority signals impact AI visibility and commercial performance
* Act as an internal expert on evolving AI discovery trends, educating cross-functional teams and building scalable processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Requirements
* Strong experience in SEO, technical SEO, ecommerce optimisation, product/data strategy, or similar roles
* Experience applying or experimenting with AI-driven search or discovery (e.g. LLMs, generative search, AI assistants)
* Strong understanding of technical SEO / GEO and website architecture
* Experience with structured data, schema implementation, and product feeds
* Proven background in ecommerce or marketplace environments
* Strong analytical mindset with experience designing and running data-driven experiments
* Curious about emerging technology, shifting search behaviours, and agent-driven commerce
* Strategic thinker who can translate complex technical concepts into practical execution
* Comfortable working collaboratively across internal marketing, content, ecommerce, and engineering teams
