Join the National Trust’s Surrey Hills property group as a Restore Nature Delivery Manager. You will lead the delivery of nature restoration across the Surrey Hills landscape, working closely with the General Manager, Countryside teams, specialists, external partners and communities to achieve our strategic ambition to restore nature at scale.
You’ll be responsible for enabling and coordinating the delivery of projects through multidisciplinary teams, ensuring that our work is impactful, inclusive and sustainable.

Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll champion good practice and be an inspiring leader who adapts to the needs of the property. The role involves a flexible schedule, including weekend work at times, and requires leading projects at pace to deliver in a timely fashion.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Lead and coordinate the delivery of nature restoration projects and programmes, ensuring alignment with our strategic plan.
* Lead a large countryside team across the landscape and be part of the property leadership team.
* Facilitate collaboration across teams, integrating expertise and best practice, and continuously evolve delivery methods.
* Manage risk, maintain compliance, and ensure delivery meets agreed quality, cost and time parameters.
* Influence stakeholders, unlock funding opportunities, and drive system‑wide change to restore nature at scale.
Who We’re Looking For

* Strategic Leadership for Landscape‑Scale Nature Recovery – ability to lead the vision, strategy and delivery of transformational change across complex landscapes.
* Ecological Expertise and Technical Credibility – deep ecological knowledge applied to inspire, influence and lead landscape‑scale transformation.
* Countryside management and delivery – practical action with the countryside team.
* External Stakeholder Leadership and Convening – build trust and authority with diverse external stakeholders.
* Programme and Financial Leadership – lead complex programmes and manage significant budgets.
* Partnership Development and Policy Advocacy – create and sustain strategic partnerships to deliver NT policy and influence land‑use change.
* Self‑Awareness and Role Transition – understanding of the distinct scope of the RNDM and readiness to lead beyond operational delivery.
Criteria for All other Applicants:
* Strategic Leadership for Landscape‑Scale Nature Recovery – as above.
* Strong ecological or land‑management expertise and technical credibility – from agroecology to low‑carbon farming.
* Countryside management and delivery – excellent leadership and communication skills, motivating teams to deliver practice.
* External Stakeholder Leadership and Convening – build trust and authority with diverse external stakeholders.
* Programme and Financial Leadership – experience in fundraising, budget management and using data to drive decisions.
* Partnership Development and Policy Advocacy – create and sustain strategic partnerships to deliver NT policy and influence wider land‑use change.
* Self‑Awareness and Role Transition – readiness to lead beyond operational delivery.
* Experience of leading large‑scale change programmes and translating strategy into action.
