Principal Modelling and Simulation Engineer, Bristol
Stirling Dynamics is recruiting for a Principal Modelling and Simulation Engineer to join the Simulation, Dynamics and Control capability group.
Due to upcoming projects and continued growth, Stirling Dynamics seeks a talented and experienced engineer to join our expanding team on a permanent basis.
Overview
The Simulation, Dynamics and Control team provides expertise in analysis areas such as control, system performance, dynamic loads, vibration, and equipment modelling. Modelling and simulation are core to Stirling Dynamics' capabilities, supporting traditional aerospace, emerging eVTOL, and marine vehicles.
This role offers the opportunity to collaborate across Marine, Aerospace, eVTOL, and Cockpit Controls sectors, supporting diverse projects from aircraft modifications to innovative industry concepts.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of industrial experience in model development for analysis, leading tasks, and mentoring junior engineers. Responsibilities include:
* Developing models at vehicle, system, and component levels
* Leading project tasks and ensuring quality within time and budget constraints
* Supporting bids and proposals with resource estimation
Qualifications and Skills
Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics (or equivalent) with a solid understanding of modelling principles. Proficiency in tools such as Matlab/Simulink, Ansys, Nastran, ADAMS, Amesim, Siemens Simcenter Motion is required.
Desired skills include confidentiality, adaptability, professionalism, self-motivation, and strong organizational skills.
Experience
* 10+ years in aerospace/marine industries
* Hands-on modelling experience across development cycles
* Leadership in technical projects and consultancy experience
* Line management experience

Benefits
Salary range of £51,000 - £65,000 (Grade 6-7), with a comprehensive benefits package and social events.
