Overview
Direct Enviro Services are looking for a Contracts Manager to oversee highways vegetation management and soft estate maintenance contracts across the South East. This role combines office-based responsibilities with regular site visits, ensuring safe and efficient delivery for our clients.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in highways, vegetation management, or environmental contracting.
* Strong knowledge of contract management (NEC/JCT).
* Proven commercial and financial management skills.
* Solid understanding of CDM, RAMS, HS&E, and traffic management.
* Leadership experience managing direct teams and subcontractors.
* Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder management.
* Full UK driving licence (essential).
What You’ll Do
* Manage contracts for vegetation clearance, tree works, and soft estate maintenance.
* Lead both in-house teams and subcontractors, managing performance and liaising with HR as required.
* Be the main point of contact for National Highways, Tier 1 contractors, and local authorities.
* Oversee commercial performance – valuations, payments, and cost control.
* Plan programme delivery including permits, access, and resources.
* Ensure compliance with HS&E, RAMS, CDM, NEC/JCT contracts.
* Monitor KPIs, audits, and drive contract performance.
