Clinical Support Worker for School Health
Central London Community Health Care Trust (CLCH) has exciting opportunities for passionate and committed Clinical Support Worker to join us in Merton. We are looking for candidates with excellent clinical and communication skills to join our 0-19 teams contributing to the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme. The School Nursing service comprises of a large skill mix team, which is structured to deliver core and targeted health input through the Healthy Child Programme to all school aged children and their families.
Car drivers are desirable but not essential.
This is a FIXED TERM, term-time only role.

Main duties of the job
* Providing clinical support to the school health team, by undertaking duties as delegated by the Team Lead/School Nurse, in support of the delivery of commissioned school health service.
* Contributing and participating in the delivery of the health promotion programme and National childhood Measurement Programme (NCMP) for the school health service in line with the Healthy Child Programme and local service specifications.
* Contributing to the delivery of Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018), including improving health and life chances for children and families and safeguarding those at risk.
* To deliver the role in accordance with CLCH Trust values and behaviours.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* N.N.E.B./ BTEC Diploma in Child Care or NVQ in Child Care level 3 or equivalent
* Educated to Diploma level in a health-related subject.
Experience
* Experience of working with children and families in a formal health, educational or social care setting
* Evidence of ongoing training in Early Years
* Experience of working as a team member and on own
* Experience of leading group work
* Experience of working in the NHS
Skills
* Basic skills in numeracy and literacy.
* IT skills including Word, Excel.
* Ability to assess a situation, identifying any risk or potential problem and act appropriately.
* Knowledge of safeguarding children
* Knowledge of normal child development, parenting skills and the importance of play.
* Able to work under pressure and to deadlines.
* Able to make and record observations of children's
* Behaviour and development
* Ability to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills
* Willingness to learn new skills and put them into practice
* Enthusiastic proactive and motivated, uses own initiative
* Maintains high level of confidentiality
* Basic understanding of community health care services
* Teaching skills (children, parents)
Key Attributes
* Must be able to travel across Borough using any method of transport.
* Must be able to negotiate stairs and carry equipment required for the role.
