Overview:
Beau Desert Golf Club is an exclusive members-only club, celebrated for its beautiful grounds, first-class facilities, and exceptional standards of service. We are looking for a talented and driven Sous Chef to join our culinary team. You will play a key role in delivering outstanding dining experiences across all areas — from casual clubhouse meals to fine dining and bespoke private events.
Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Leadership & Teamwork
* Motivate and support the kitchen team to deliver consistently high-quality food.
* Assist with rota planning and ensure kitchen operations are effectively staffed.
* Contribute to fostering a positive, collaborative, and professional working environment.
Menu Execution & Quality
* Assist in the delivery of seasonal menus that reflect member preferences and club standards.
* Ensure all dishes are prepared to specification, maintaining exceptional quality and presentation.
* Adapt dishes to meet dietary requirements and event needs.
Operational Excellence & Compliance
* Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations when required, ensuring efficiency, cleanliness, and compliance with food hygiene and health & safety regulations (e.g. HACCP, EHO standards).
* Maintain accurate records for food safety and kitchen operations.
Cost Control & Stock Management
* Support with stock control, ordering, and supplier management to reduce waste and maintain profitability.
* Monitor food costs and contribute to the effective use of ingredients.
Event Support
* Contribute to the preparation and smooth delivery of food service for club events including golf tournaments, private functions, weddings, and seasonal celebrations.
* Work alongside the events team to ensure menus are delivered seamlessly.
Requirements
* Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong experience as a Junior Sous Chef within a high-end hospitality or private club environment.
* NVQ Level 3 in Professional Cookery (or equivalent qualification).
* Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Solid knowledge of British and European cuisine, with creativity and a passion for food.
* Up-to-date food hygiene certification and strong knowledge of compliance requirements.
* Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and evenings.
* A genuine passion for delivering excellent culinary experiences and exceeding member expectations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
