Health Care Assistant - Ward 7 General medical/renal ward
Health care assistant role at University Hospital Monklands. An opportunity has arisen within Ward 7 to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, carrying out routine personal care and assisting with routine examination duties for patients, in support of (and supervised by) a registered nurse/clinician. The post holder will ensure a person-centred approach to care delivery that is safe and effective to maintain quality. The post holder will carry out assigned duties to maintain hygiene, order and safety within the ward/department environment.
Responsibilities

* Carry out routine personal care and assist with routine examination duties for patients, in support of (and supervised by) a registered nurse/clinician.
* Support the delivery of patient care in a multidisciplinary team.
What we'll need you to bring
* Knowledge of personal care and related procedures or previous volunteer or work experience in a health, education or social environment
* Required to undertake on the job training and induction
* Undertake mandatory HCSW standards
* Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Effective written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment
* Working knowledge of basic information technology
* Must be able to travel to other locations as required, as NHSL rotational contract
* Ability to work a variety of shifts
Desirable
* SVQ11 in Health Care or working towards or equivalent experience working within a care environment/ role
* Computer skills

Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in Ward 7 General medical/renal ward within University Hospital Monklands.
The working pattern for this role is shifts LD 07:15-19:45 and ND 19:15-07:45.
