You will deliver nuclear safety case and assurance work across a range of projects, working closely with our Directors and Head of Nuclear Safety. You'll be trusted with real responsibility, supported in your development, and encouraged to shape how we deliver consultancy, not just following a template.

This role offers:

* Tailored technical and consultancy mentoring
* A clear, personalised development pathway

* The opportunity to help build and mentor a future safety case team as the division grows

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop Claims, Arguments and Evidence (CAE)
* Engage directly with clients, providing progress updates, highlighting risks/opportunities, and proposing solutions

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

* Degree in a science or engineering discipline, or vocational qualification (HND or equivalent), and/or significant relevant experience
* Minimum 3 years' experience supporting or delivering nuclear safety cases
* Experience authoring safety case assessments and documentation to client standards and procedures
* Providing technical safety input into engineering or design activities
* Supporting document checking and verification
* Awareness of core safety case assessment techniques, including:
* HAZID / HAZAN
* Dose assessment
* Fault sequence frequency and risk derivation
* Optioneering and shortfall sentencing

Required:

* Clear written communication skills, able to describe complex systems in an understandable way
* Ability to review large volumes of information and extract relevant safety content
* Strong personal work ethic, accountability, and pride in quality delivery
* Comfortable working with multidisciplinary teams and client representatives
* Willingness to travel to UK client sites where required
* Minimum of a Security Check (SC) clearance without any restrictions. UCD will support the application for Security Clearance if the individual does not currently hold it.

Preferred (Not Essential):

* Direct experience delivering full safety cases or key constituent reports
* Experience leading safety case tasks or small teams
* Mentoring or supporting junior team members
* Supporting project planning, cost estimating, and scheduling
* Reporting programme progress to project managers or clients
* Managing change and scope evolution
* Confidence chairing or leading meetings with senior client stakeholders

Why Join U‐CD?

* Real influence in shaping a growing nuclear safety capability
* Visible leadership support, with direct access to decision‐makers
* High technical standards without ego
* Personalised career development, not generic frameworks
* Flexible working that supports sustainable performance
