Art & DT Technician
Location: Wallasey
Salary: £453.77 per week
Hours: 29 hours per week, 4 days (8:00am - 4:15pm)
Contract: Term time only, long-term / permanent
Prospero Teaching are working with a high-performing secondary school who are looking to appoint an Art & DT Technician to join their successful Creative Arts & Technology faculty.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician with experience in CAD/CAM and workshop environments who enjoys working with young people and supporting practical learning.
The role
As Art & DT Technician, you will:
Support the day-to-day running of the Art & Design Technology department
Maintain and prepare equipment, tools and materials for practical lessons
Use CAD/CAM and laser cutting technology as part of resource preparation
Support staff and students during practical sessions and extra-curricular activities
Help to create engaging classroom and corridor displays using student work
Contribute to GCSE and A-Level exhibitions and showcasesAbout the school
Oversubscribed 11-18 secondary school

Easily accessible via public transport and road links from Liverpool and across the WirralThe ideal candidate will have:
Experience using a range of materials (wood, metal, plastics etc.) in a workshop or DT setting
Proficiency in laser cutting technology and CAD/CAM
Good IT skills (Microsoft Office / Google Drive)
Excellent organisation, communication and time management skills
Confidence supporting staff and students in a practical learning environment
Awareness of health & safety and safeguarding procedures in an education or workshop contextExperience working in a school, college or with young people is desirable but not essential for the right candidate with strong technical skills and a genuine interest in education.
