At Southern Housing, our residents and communities are at the heart of everything we do and we're looking for a skilled Transformation Service Designer to help shape services that truly make a difference. Reporting to the Service Design Manager, you'll play a pivotal role within our Design & Change team, supporting our Transformation Plan and helping us achieve our ambitions to:
Become the best large landlord for repairs by 2027
Achieve a C1 regulatory rating by 2028
Deliver the efficiency targets set out in our long term financial plan
You'll bring proven service design experience or formal service design training, using your expertise to redesign services, digital platforms and data driven processes that reduce delivery costs, improve resident outcomes and support our resident centric ethos.
In this role, you'll lead and facilitate cocreation and codesign workshops, bringing together residents, colleagues and stakeholders from across the organisation to ensure every solution is grounded in community insight and real user needs. Your confidence in public speaking, coupled with excellent stakeholder engagement skills, will enable you to guide multidisciplinary teams through discovery, user research, customer journey mapping and prototyping ensuring clarity, alignment and collaboration at every stage.
Working closely with Business and Systems Analysts, Solution and Integration Architects, and Data Quality specialists, you'll define current and future state designs that align with Government Digital Service (GDS) principles and support high quality, scalable implementation. You'll also partner with our Transformation Change Partners to ensure new services are embraced by colleagues and residents alike.
This hybrid role can be based from one of our offices in Farringdon or Sittingbourne, giving you flexibility while working alongside passionate colleagues committed to improving the lives of our residents.
What You'll Need
Experience in service design process and methodologies.
Proven experience of designing and delivering end-to-end digital solutions, including digital prototypes, system configuration, and data requirements.
Skilled in using design tools such as Axure, Mural, Miro, and graphic design software to create and share design proposals, prototypes, and visuals.
Ability to present complex recommendations and findings to a range of stakeholders, translating technical concepts for senior leaders and non-technical audiences.
Experience designing for change, including creation of training and testing materials, and supporting end users to adopt new systems and processes.
Experienced in leading a range of service design workshops, playback sessions and providing clear recommendations based on evidence to senior stakeholders
