An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Drainage Engineer to join a busy local authority client in the Manchester area. The main duties of the experienced Drainage Engineer are: Support the Highways and Infrastructure teams in delivering drainage and flood risk management projects. Design, inspect, and maintain sustainable drainage systems (SuDS), culverts, sewers, and surface water networks in line with legislation and council standards. Provide technically accurate advice and support to internal teams, contractors, and the public regarding drainage schemes. Conduct site investigations, surveys, and feasibility assessments to inform design and maintenance decisions. Manage and implement drainage improvement projects, ensuring compliance with statutory and environmental requirements. Liaise effectively with residents, developers, and stakeholders to resolve issues and deliver customer-focused solutions. Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and update management information systems for drainage schemes. Identify issues in assigned work, recommend improvements, and support process and service enhancements.
