Are you an experienced consultation and stakeholder engagement professional with a background in large‑scale infrastructure or major planning projects? We are seeking aSenior Consultation Managerto lead the development and delivery of statutory and non‑statutory consultation activity for a nationally significant programme.
This is a high‑impact role where you will shape engagement strategies, ensure compliance with the Planning Act 2008, and deliver meaningful dialogue with communities, statutory bodies, and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
* As Senior Consultation Manager, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring consultation activity is transparent, inclusive, and aligned with statutory requirements.
* You’ll be a trusted advisor to the programme, supporting the development of consultation strategy and overseeing the production of high‑quality consultation materials and reports.
* You will also act as a visible member of the wider programme team, helping to coordinate activity across multiple functions including planning, legal, communications, environmental and technical workstreams.
* Supporting the development of statutory and non‑statutory consultation strategies.
* Directing the production and review of consultation documents, materials, and content.
* Coordinating engagement activity including meetings, exhibitions, workshops, and digital engagement.
* Managing logistics, resourcing, and budgets for consultation delivery.
* Directing the preparation of the statutory consultation report for submission under the Planning Act 2008.
* Maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Supervising, supporting, and mentoring junior team members.
* Ensuring all activity meets legal requirements, best practice, and internal governance standards.
Requirements
* Proven experience delivering complex consultations across major infrastructure or DCO projects.
* Strong knowledge of DCO processes, statutory requirements, and consultation best practice.
* Skilled in stakeholder management, communication, reporting, and record‑keeping.
* Highly organised, outcome‑focused, and effective in supporting leaders to drive team performance.
