Are you a resilient and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Autism and complex needs?
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Sutton is looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their Year 1 team, working closely with two pupils who require 1:1 and 2:1 support.
Why you’ll love this role:
* Opportunity to make a real difference to two children’s daily experiences and long-term progress.
* Ongoing support and guidance from the class teacher, SENCo and external specialists.
* A chance to develop your knowledge of Autism, communication systems and sensory regulation.
Both children have significant developmental delays and are currently working at around a two-year-old level. They need patient, nurturing and consistent support to help them engage with learning and daily routines.
The ideal candidate will have either formal training in Autism and Challenging Behaviour or substantial hands-on experience supporting children with complex SEND. You’ll need to be calm under pressure, confident in using de-escalation strategies, and committed to helping every child feel understood and valued.
Why this school is a great place to work:
* A warm, inclusive ethos that celebrates every child’s achievements.
* A leadership team who value and invest in their support staff.
* Regular CPD and training opportunities tailored to SEND support.
* A collaborative, friendly team who share a genuine passion for helping children thrive.
If you are enthusiastic, empathetic and eager to build a rewarding career in SEND education, we’d love to hear from you.
