Role
(Senior) Associate Solicitor or FCILEx – Family Law. Farnfields Solicitors offer an excellent opportunity for an experienced Family Lawyer with a minimum of five years PQE. The role is full‑time or part‑time, permanent (minimum four days per week) with the option of hybrid working (a minimum of two days in the office).
Responsibilities
* Divorce and dissolution proceedings
* Financial remedy matters
* Private law children (all areas)
* Pre‑ and post‑nuptial agreements
* Separation agreements
* Cohabitation agreements
* Non‑molestation and occupation order proceedings
* Provide strategic, practical and client‑focused advice from initial instruction through to conclusion
* Draft pleadings, agreements and complex court documents
* Conduct advocacy where appropriate
* Negotiate settlements and use NCDR
* Maintain high levels of compliance, file management and client care
* Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, counsel and other professionals
* Support and mentor junior team members where required
* Contribute to the development of the family team
Qualifications
A qualified solicitor or legal executive (authorised person) with at least five years PQE, extensive experience across all areas of private family law, proven ability to manage a complex caseload and sensitive cases independently, strong technical knowledge of family law and procedure, excellent drafting, negotiation and advocacy skills, confident communication and a compassionate, solution‑focused client approach, ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines. Ideally a Member of a resolution‑accredited mediator or collaborative lawyer but not essential, with supervisory experience advantageous.
