Penspen www.penspen.com are looking forward to hiring a Senior Piping Engineer seeking the next step to Principal level with G17 approval status to work hybrid in and around the Aberdeen offices.

Main Purpose of the role:
Communicate closely with other disciplines to ensure all piping requirements are addressed across design, fabrication, construction, and commissioning phases.
Provide discipline leadership during design development and reviews, considering layout restrictions, ergonomics, safety, operational, and maintainability requirements.
Generate, check, and approve calculations and analysis according to design codes and standards.
Review construction documentation such as workpacks, job cards, certification, and as-builts.
Act as the Piping Subject Matter Expert (SME) / Lead on projects, with the ability to serve as Technical Authority when delegated.
Manage project planning, progress reporting, and scope changes, assessing impacts on cost and schedule.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
At least 10 years of experience in oil and gas.
Minimum 5 years in a consulting environment preferred.
Chartered Engineer or working towards it.
Construction and site experience advantageous.
Experience in pipe stress analysis preferred.
G17 approval is highly desirable.
Knowledge / Skills:
Design knowledge of piping systems in various facilities.
Understanding of technical interfaces and deliverables across disciplines.
Experience with project lifecycle deliverables and both greenfield and brownfield projects.
Proficiency in piping materials, corrosion, and design optimization.
Capability in static and dynamic pipe stress analysis.
Experience reviewing piping drawings and using CAD software.
Familiarity with international codes and standards.
Strong report writing, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Excellent communication with stakeholders and team motivation ability.
Software Knowledge:
Hexagon Caesar II / Bentley AutoPIPE.
AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant3D.
Navisworks.
PTC MathCAD.
Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities:
Assist in department management and mentor junior engineers.
Ensure work complies with project and quality standards.
Develop detailed piping design schedules.
Produce calculations, reports, and specifications.
Review drawings and supervise CAD activities.
Support procurement and site activities.
Prepare tender documentation and site visit reports.
