Psychology Graduate – SEMH Support Role Location: Wirral Full Time | Term Time Only SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) School A specialist SEMH school in the Wirral is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychology graduate to join their team on a full-time, term-time basis. This is an ideal opportunity for a graduate with a strong interest in working with vulnerable students, particularly those with SEN (Special Educational Needs) and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting students both academically and emotionally, using trauma-informed practice to help create a safe and nurturing learning environment. The Role: The successful candidate will: Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with complex emotional and behavioural needs Build positive and trusting relationships with students and staff Promote emotional wellbeing and model appropriate behaviour Apply trauma-informed strategies to support student engagement Assist in maintaining a calm, consistent, and supportive classroom environment Be a positive role model, encouraging personal and academic growth Person Specification: The school is looking for someone who: Holds a degree in Psychology (or a related field) Demonstrates a strong interest in supporting children and young people with SEN and SEMH needs Shows compassion, resilience, and a willingness to support students facing emotional challenges Understands or is keen to learn about trauma-informed practice Has excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport Experience working with children or young people (in any setting) is desirable but not essential All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
