Treasury Manager – Middle Office

Team
This position is a pivotal role in the Treasury team with exposure to the senior easyJet management team up to CEO level. Based in Luton, the role is key to ensuring a strong control framework in the easyJet treasury team. This role also needs to be able to cover both the Assistant Treasurer and the Treasury Accountant within Middle Office.
Job purpose
To oversee treasury-related accounting and control activities, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and acting as the primary point of contact for auditors and group financial control. This role supports the delivery of a strong control framework and continuous improvement within the Treasury team.
Responsibilities
* Accounting
* Perform treasury accounting (valuations, hedge accounting, accruals etc) and providing commentary / feeding into budgets where necessary
* Ensure all ledger reconciliations are maintained and remain accurate
* Contribute to and review the annual report and accounts for the year end
* Primary contact for treasury accounting and audit process
* Support on Credit Rating analysis where required
* Prepare reporting of treasury activities for senior management
* Research into changes in standards and regulation and ensure the necessary steps are taken to prepare accordingly
* Management
* Manage and develop a team of two direct reports
* Control
* Ensure system maintenance on all treasury related systems (TMS, dealing platforms and payment systems)
* Assist in the annual refresh of Treasury Policy and the Risk and Controls Matrix and ensure compliance is maintained through the year
* Seek to automate controls where possible
* Relationship Management
* Maintain good working relationships with auditors and key system providers.
* Build strong and effective relationships within Treasury as well as wider finance functions
* Continuous Improvement
* Ensure opportunities to streamline and improve processes/controls are identified and pursued
* Other Ad Hoc
* Assisting on ad-hoc projects/tasks
Key Performance Indicators & Financial Targets
* Ensure accurate and timely postings and output reporting
* Keep the RACM up to date and relevant
* Ensure systems are operational with appropriate user access
* Successful implementation of new standards and regulations
Key Skills Required
* Strong intellect with a drive to learn and is a qualified accountant in ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent qualification.
* Ideally have experience in treasury accounting.
* Must be able to demonstrate:-
* Strong communication skills with the ability to challenge whilst being able to build strong relationships both internally and externally
* Sound commercial judgement
* Strong attention to detail
* High degree of numeracy
* Good organisational skills – structured approach.
* Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and capable of managing numerous work streams at the same time.
* Strong Excel, modelling and analysis skills
* Ability to communicate complex ideas very simply at all levels
* Ability to deliver - drive and energy to achieve objectives.
* Enthusiasm with the ability to work well as part of a team and cover for other team members
* Must employ an innovative approach to change and champion this practice in team

Location & Hours of Work
This full time role will be based in Luton and will be 40 hours per week.
