We are seeking a skilled Gardener & Maintenance Operative to join our team in maintaining and enhancing the outdoor areas of our property on the Windsor/Bucks border. The ideal candidate will have proven gardening and landscaping experience, with excellent knowledge of plant care and grounds upkeep, alongside strong practical maintenance skills and proficiency with hand and power tools.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform routine grounds cleaning including leaf blowing and removal, litter pickup, and pathway clearing.
* Removal of leaves & debris from lakes around property.
* Operate and maintain gardening tools and machinery such as mowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers, and other handheld tools.
* Carry out all aspects of gardening including:
* Plants and bedding maintenance.
* Tree cutting, pruning, and routine watering.
* Hedge trimming, mowing, and maintaining lawns.
* Regular weeding and planting of new plants.
* Fertilising, potting and repotting plants, and relocating plants as needed.
* Specialist bonsai care (pruning, watering, and shaping).
* Assist in outdoor repairs and maintenance work as well as installations.
* General painting including fences & outdoor buildings.
* Building of flatpack furniture.
* Ensure all maintenance and gardening work is completed with safety and environmental considerations.
* Collaborate with other staff and team leaders to coordinate maintenance schedules.
* Report any damage, hazards, or issues requiring repair to the appropriate personnel.
Requirements
* Minimum 1 years' proven experience as a gardener, landscaper, or in a similar grounds/maintenance role.
* Strong horticultural knowledge including plant care, seasonal maintenance, and grounds upkeep.
* Proficiency with hand tools and power tool
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance.
* Strong attention to detail in all tasks related to gardening and grounds maintenance.
* Easy-going can-do attitude is essential.
* Ability to turn your hand to any tasks required in order to facilitate the needs of the owner and other departments.
* Car driver essential due to necessity to drive work vehicles.
* Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
* Telehandler License desirable.
* Shift pattern: 10 hours per day with 1 hour paid lunch break, 1 weekend off in 4, 5 days per week.
