We're looking for a General Foreman to join our East West Rail (EWR) team based in Cambridge. Join us and play a vital role in overseeing archaeological trenching and soil surveys along the proposed railway route between Oxford and Cambridge.
Location: St Neots, Cambridge
Hours: Permanent Fulltime 47.5 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us

What will you be responsible for?
As a General Foreman, you'll be working within the EWR Bedford to Cambridge team, supporting them in delivering high-quality archaeological and soil survey work. You'll also be managing day-to-day operations while ensuring safety, quality and efficiency across multiple survey teams.
Your Day To Day Will Include
Ensuring soil surveys are carried out to support and inform the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
Leading and coordinating site teams, ensuring everyone works safely and follows proper procedures
Managing resources effectively planning labour, equipment and materials to meet project milestones
Maintaining detailed records and producing daily shift reports for all land parcels
Coordinate deliveries and site logistics
What are we looking for?
This Role Of General Foreman Is Ideal If You
Hold an NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Construction Supervision or equivalent experience
Have a Gold (Supervisory) or Black (Managerial) CSCS card
Are SSSTS qualified at minimum (SMSTS preferred)
Have proven experience in civil engineering projects including earthworks, drainage, concrete, or structures, with the ability to supervise operatives and subcontractors, read drawings and RAMS, and deliver works safely
First Aid training and a strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements
