Job Description
The Associate Director – Quantum will support the Recovery and Expert Witness teams by preparing expert quantum reports for adjudication, litigation and other dispute resolution processes. The role involves detailed analysis of construction projects in the UK and internationally, strategic advice to clients in commercial distress, and mentoring to develop expertise in quantum.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist quantum experts in delivering expert quantum reports for adjudication, litigation and dispute resolution.
* Support contract and commercial specialists in providing strategic advice to clients whose projects or major programmes are in commercial distress.
* Conduct forensic and exploratory analysis of construction projects, identifying root causes and proposing recovery strategies.
* Lead the drafting of detailed expert witness reports for formal dispute resolution proceedings.
* Collaborate with clients, lawyers and other stakeholders, chairing meetings as required.
* Maintain a high standard of work that can withstand scrutiny by all parties.
* Contribute to mentoring programmes and develop leadership within the team.
Qualifications
* Relevant construction and engineering industry experience (minimum 10 years).
* Construction‑related degree and/or legal qualification.
* Experience leading the pursuit of claims throughout the supply chain and achieving negotiated resolutions.
* Strong knowledge of construction contracts, law and commercial principles.
* Ability to analyse project performance, identify root causes and develop recovery strategies.
* Effective stakeholder management, including chairing client meetings.
* Proficiency in quantity surveying and commercial tools (e.g., BCIS, Cost‑X, CEMAR).
* Experience drafting expert witness reports for dispute resolution.
* Leadership skills to provide direction to staff and interface with clients and consultants.
* Commitment to staying abreast of developments within the technical area of expertise.
