Job Title: Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer Location: Preston / Warton; Lancashire. Salary: Circa £50,000 depending on experience What you’ll be doing: Supporting the organisation’s IT infrastructure across Windows and Linux platforms Designing, deploying and maintaining servers, storage, networking and security systems Installing, configuring and deploying IT hardware in line with infrastructure hosting requirements Investigating and diagnosing issues by gathering information from physical and digital sources, reviewing platform or assembly defects, and identifying all contributing factors Administering a virtualised production environment using industry-standard tools Your skills and experiences: Essential: Installing, configuring and supporting Windows and/or Linux operating systems Demonstrating a detailed understanding of network architecture, with a focus on Palo Alto firewall and network security technologies Applying in-depth knowledge of hypervisor technologies, including VMware, VxRail and Hyper-V Using a range of IT administration and management applications Desirable: Administering virtualisation and cloud platforms, including Citrix and thin client technologies Understanding and applying cyber security methodologies Benefits: As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts - you may also be eligible for an annual incentive.
